Get to know the Bowl
-
The venue sits in a naturally bowl-shaped area of the Hollywood Hills, originally known as Daisy Dell. The setting was selected partly for its natural acoustics.
-
The Bowl is older than the Hollywood Sign! Its beginnings date to 1919.
-
The Bowl is one of the world’s largest natural amphitheaters, seating nearly 18,000 people while still feeling closely connected to the surrounding hills and trees.
-
It is both a concert venue and a public park. The land was deeded to Los Angeles County in 1924 to preserve it for future generations; today, the County owns the Bowl and operates it in partnership with the LA Phil.
